Robyn Gardner is a writer and artist. She taught at the University of Melbourne and Deakin University for ten years in cultural and philosophical studies before leaving to write and paint full-time.Her publishings are in interdisciplinary contexts, in philosophy and aesthetics and in critical theory, with an interest in the impact of contemporary biogenetic theory on discourses of 'the body' theory and criticism in post war contexts, and in transports of continental philosophy to the US in such institutional contexts as The Yale School. She has been an art critic and a gallery director, of Wishart Gallery in Port Fairy, for four years until 2016. More recently she has spent time painting in Italy, with JSS in Civita Castellana. She is as co-director with Brian Edwards of Mattoid-Grange publishing and she currently has a studio near Cape Bridgewater on the southwest Victorian coast in Australia.
